Prudential Singapore Workplace Wayfinding
Prudential Singapore Workplace
Wayfinding strategy, environmental graphics and themed illustrations for Prudential's new Singapore workplace.
Expertise: Wayfinding Strategy, Environmental Graphics, Mapping, Themed Illustrations Prudential Assurance Company Singapore has served the financial and protection needs of Singaporeans for over 85 years. Their new workplace at UE BizHub West consolidates 66,000 square feet across seven floors — a flagship environment designed by ID21 as a rejuvenating oasis within the urban concrete jungle, reimagining the modern workplace as a living ecosystem inspired by biodiversity in nature.
Within that architectural vision, the wayfinding and environmental graphics program needed to support both daily operational navigation and the broader brand narrative the space represents. The brief was guided by Prudential's organising theme: "Our Customer is Our Compass." Translating that theme into the lived experience of the workplace meant working in concert with ID21's biodiversity-led design language — supporting the building's ecosystem narrative rather than competing with it.
Creative Dialog, in collaboration with Graphite Studio, developed the complete wayfinding scheme, environmental graphics suite, mapping system and themed illustration program across the seven floors. The strategic anchor was the compass theme — translated into nautical and navigational design references, fluid forms, and themed glass graphics that thread through the workplace at every scale, layered against the natural-ecosystem material palette.
In design terms, wood laminate signage with chiseled features grounds the wayfinding system in a refined, considered material language consistent with the timber and natural surfaces threaded through the architecture. Themed illustrations on the staircase connecting all seven floors transform what is conventionally dead circulation space into a programmed wellness and brand element — encouraging active stair use through motivational callouts and themed visual treatments that reinforce both Prudential's wellness positioning and the building's biodiversity narrative.
The customer service area required particular attention. ID21's design replaces the conventional fixed-desk model with a hospitality-led approach: service agents approach customers and lead them to available consultation positions along the window perimeter. The wayfinding system supports that operational rhythm — directional clarity for the customer journey through arrival, wayfinding to private meeting rooms, and a confident sense of arrival without the institutional signage register that would undermine the soothing environment.
Meeting room identifications carry named, character-driven monikers (Prudence, and others) that humanise the workplace experience. The two training rooms — combinable through operable walls and framed by curved timber panels and lattices that take their formal cues from trees — required signage that sat respectfully alongside the architectural treatment rather than competing with it. PruBistro's environmental graphics anchor the social heart of the workplace with confident, restaurant-grade visual presence. Throughout the working floors, gradient-toned carpeting provides subtle wayfinding underfoot, with our overhead and applied signage layered above to create a complete navigation language.
Throughout, the system respects Prudential's bilingual and multilingual workforce reality — wayfinding hierarchy and character treatment calibrated for Latin script alongside the linguistic depth of Singapore's working environment. Materials and finishes are specified for tropical workplace performance, and existing furniture and signage components were reused wherever possible, aligning with the project's broader environmental protection and sustainability mandate.
The result is a workplace where wayfinding does what Prudential's brief required: it does not just direct people through the space — it tells the brand story at every navigation touchpoint, and reinforces the thoughtful biodiversity-led environment across all seven floors.
